It cannot be emphasized enough that green cleaning is good for the environment, our health, our pets health, and may increase our lifespan. Our bodies simply cannot keep inhaling toxic chemicals on a regular basis without it affecting our hearts, lungs and skin. These products may even cause cancer. There are some of us of has been putting on the thick rubber gloves and covering our mouths just so we could clean our ovens with chemical filled cans of foam? Was it really worth the risk to our health? And sadly, it wasn’t even really needed, as baking soda and lemon juice will do the job perfectly and leave a fresh scent too.

All of us has a responsibility to do their share in creating a clean earth for themselves and future generations. And with simple green cleaning steps to a sparkling home, everyone can. On the Internet there are many ways to get eco friendly products and even some recipes for those who prefer to make their own. Coconut water is a great cleaner, as is lemon juice or vinegar.

When you think of it to clean your house, all you really need is some baking soda and vinegar. For instance, a small amount vinegar rubbed onto glass with a piece of crumpled newsprint will give you a clean shine on window panes. No glass-specific cleanser needed.

When purchasing for cleaners which boast they are cleaning green products, don’t always believe that to be true unless there is an eco friendly seal on the container. One such product with rave reviews is the eco friendly cleaning cloth. This cloth is thick, toxin free, and picks up dirt, grime and even grease quite easily with just a swipe. You will not have to scrub, nor break a sweat with this microfiber powerhouse. More great news is the cloths last a long time so they are affordable too. We may just increase our lifespans, finally end cancer and a host of other chronic diseases forever.

When it comes to House Cleaning Tips maintaining your kitchen worktop surfaces is essential to a fabulous and stunning kitchen. But looking fabulous is not the only purpose it has, afterall, it has a an everyday essential use, and regular cleaning is a task that requires regular attention. So here are brilliant Home Cleaning Tips for a range of alternative surfaces one finds in the kitchen.

General Surfaces

It helps to clean as you go, using a mild cleaner (washing up detergent and water in a spray) or anti-bacterial substance. Remember that, this is where most of the food handling occurs. I think it is very important that you should wipe your kitchen work top surfaces on a regular basis.

Kitchen Tiles

Kitchen tiles also need cleaning, and sometimes can be the work surface in your kitchen, so, one should be cleaning, again either with mild cleaner as above or antibacterial spray. In addition, if there is grout, one will want to make up a cleaning substance consisting of water and bleach (a 1:4 ratio of bleach and water). Consider utilizing an old toothbrush, as it is brilliant for getting into the narrow grout.

Laminate Surfaces

Laminate can be wiped down and cleaned as normal, with particular hard stains, it is my considered opinion that a cream cleaner works wonders. If you do not want to use a cream cleaner you can make up a paste of bicarbonate of soda and washing up liquid.

Wood surfaces

Wooden surfaces require oiling on a regular basis. It is essential to halt the wood taking on too much water. Deal with any spills from food that stains, such as curry or tomato sauce with haste. Remember a mild cleaner, and antibacterial cleaner is fine for wood surfaces. You need to rub firmly, and you will have your wood kitchen worktops appearing beautiful.

Glazed Tiles

If you have opted for special tiles – such as glazed tiles, one must make sure to make sure one is not using anything that maybe abrasive or corrosive.

Stainless steel surfaces.

Stainless steel work surfaces can look brilliant, but one will find one having to deal with fingermarks everywhere. A good microfibre cloth is brilliant at eradicating the nightmare of finger prints. Some people find that all they need to do is use some baby oil (in very small dosages), then the fingermarks soon be eradicated in no time. With metal surfaces do not utilize any abrasive or harsh cleaners and cleaning material as you will only scratch and damage the your stainless steel pride and joy.

Granite surfaces

Most people view the granite kitchen worktop as the toughest of the kitchen surfaces. Granite surfaces mostly avoid staining, and can look fantastic. It is essential to maintain and you still need to clean on a regular basis as per the instructions above, and mild cleaner is all you need. Further, like surfaces made from stainless steel you must make sure that you are not opting for the use of cleaners and cloths that are likely to damage the surface as you do not want to create scratches the kitchen worktop.

For me, family life often evolves round the kitchen, and a clean kitchen is a healthy kitchen, and should be respected and enjoyed. Therefore, always keep the place looking lovely. Follow these great House Cleaning Tips and wipe and tidy regularly and one will find one has somewhere where you can have lots of fun and enjoy being in.

Going for green cleaning products is not a must but it is a conscious and responsible cleaning step. It is a way of looking at things in a much bigger picture that shows consideration to others. To use it, is to help and protect yourself, others and the environment.

Generally, natural cleaning products are of two advantages. First, it makes you save money and second’ it helps you do the cleaning in a much safer way. These two benefits are making green cleaning products a much preferable cleaning choice over chemically enhanced cleaning solutions.

However, let not the eco-friendly property of natural cleaning products give you the impression that they are less effective cleaning solutions. Though they may be considered as a smoother way of tidying things up, these products’ gentle characteristic applies only to the environment. When it comes to dirt, germs and stains, rest assured that they are as tough as chemical-based cleaning products.

Nevertheless, proper cleaning attitude and practices can also contribute to the general results of green cleaning products. The combination of these two can create more effective and far rewarding cleaning effects.

To make your cleaning more efficient with natural cleaning products, here are some tips that must go with it.

- Set a cleaning schedule

Cleaning is not a one-step process. It doesn’t take just sweeping to make your entire house shining clean. A day may not even be enough to get everything done. That is why it is important to schedule your cleaning.

Knowing what chore you should do first will help you set what task to finish today and tomorrow and the next day and so on and so forth. This can help you develop a daily cleaning habit which is a big factor in maintaining cleanliness.

- Clean from top to bottom

Following this pattern can save you from re-applying green cleaning products. If you start cleaning from top, take for example the ceiling, the dust and dirt that you can take from it will all fall to the floor. Now if you first cleaned your floor before the ceiling this will make you repeat your floor cleaning.

- Keep windows open

Keeping the windows of your house open while cleaning provides proper insulation. It allows the continuous flow of clean air in and toxins out.

- Gather all cleaning supplies and materials first

Before you start cleaning, make sure that you have all your tools and materials needed within reach. It will save you from going back and forth to collect them every time they’re needed. This cuts the time and energy required to finish cleaning.

- Provide doormats

Everybody goes everywhere. And who knows what’s there to stepped on? There could be anything and this anything can be a source of harmful micro-organisms. Placing doormats can at least minimize the germs that can be carried into your house which means lesser cleaning time and lesser health risk.

- Focus on your cleaning goal

Focusing on your cleaning goal means not getting yourself distracted. Avoid lingering into an interesting piece you found while cleaning. For example, you stumbled into an old photograph which brings back memories or an unread book which you know be a great read. Put them aside and finish your cleaning first before you spend time enjoying them.

Green cleaning is effective cleaning which protects health without harming the environment. Green cleaning is about maintaining and improving cleanliness and supporting infection control while protecting workers and the environment from the risks posed by cleaning materials and processes.

Green cleaning products are available, effective, and affordable. Green cleaning materials also are no more expensive than the more mainstream variety household chemicals. Green cleaning doesn’t just mean reducing impact on the environment, it focus’s on improving air quality because contaminants are typically at least two to five times worse indoors than outdoors.

Green cleaning protects your family from unseen dangers in your home such as harmful fumes. Whether you clean your office yourself or use a contracted cleaning service, switching to green cleaning products can help your business decrease its environmental impact and create a healthier workspace. Green cleaning is a total approach that not only uses safer cleaning solutions but also equipment and procedures that do not endanger you, your family or your pets.

Poor quality indoor air can produce health effects ranging from headaches and dry eyes to nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. Whatever choices you make about your cleaning supplies, there is a huge variety of environmentally friendly choices for those interested in green cleaning. Health care facilities throughout the country have successfully implemented green cleaning programs while maintaining the efficacy of their infection control efforts. Has your facility successfully implemented a green cleaning program?

Green cleaning can reduce employee sick days and help with employee morale and retention. Using green cleaning products in homes, childcare centers, houses of worship and schools are a simple, effective step to reducing unnecessary toxic exposures to growing children. Everyone can make the switch to green cleaning. Within the past five years, green cleaning supplies also have become more effective, less expensive, and more readily available. Through product innovation and an understanding of our customers’ green cleaning efforts, we have developed the most complete line of green floor cleaning equipment in the industry.

Typical procedures for green cleaning programs will include ensuring the chemical has proper dwell time so that soil is thoroughly removed using fewer products. After years spent hovering just below the radar, green cleaning and cleaning for health movements have exploded — thanks in part to an increasing concern for the environments in which we live. You can make a green cleaning kit to use around your house. Since the green cleaning methods are just as good as toxic cleaning, why would you risk cleaning any other way?

Environment In keeping with our commitment to provide our customers with the highest quality and environmentally responsible facilities services solutions, we have launched a Green Clean program. Our clients reap the benefits from green cleaning by attracting and retaining occupants, differentiating themselves from the competition and enjoying the health and environmental benefits. But just as organic and all-natural foods are becoming more mainstream, other products — such as cleaning supplies — are becoming more environmentally friendly and more available.

A growing number of commercial non-toxic home cleaning products are also available, as healthier and environmentally responsible alternatives Asthma attacks are caused by triggers that include allergens, gases and airborne particles, so cleaning plays a very important role in controlling the indoor environment. Going green is a process, and can’t be done in one fell swoop by even the most committed environmentalist. You don’t have to be an environmentalist to desire a healthy workplace and home for yourself. Most store-bought polishes contain solvents harmful to the environment.

At Building Clean we will clean your home or office with our combined eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products and our proven green cleaning methods.

Just about every household in America has a vacuum in the closet that someone in the house uses for everyday carpet cleaning and vacuuming which is necessary to remove loose sand, pet hair, and regular messes that end up on the floor. In order to keep your expensive carpet looking at its best, only vacuuming is not enough. Carpets need thorough deep cleaning on a regular basis. A good deep cleaning method will allow you to get the most life out of your big flooring investment. The more spills, dirt, and other “stuff” that stays on the carpet, the more the carpet wears out, and not everything is removed with a regular Singer or Dirt Devil.

Once a year or year and a half, you should refresh your carpet and extend its life by deep cleaning it. The difference between a carpet that has been only vacuumed and one that has had a deep cleaning is amazing; the carpet will look so clean and smell so fresh; deep cleaning is almost like a miracle for your tired, dirty, stained carpeting.

There are several ways a carpet can be deep cleaned. You can do it yourself, if you want to give that a try, but special equipment is required and the work is difficult and time consuming. You would also need to purchase special carpet shampoo for whatever material your carpet is made of and follow the guidelines your carpet manufacturer recommends for deep cleaning your specific type of carpeting.

Although it is possible to deep clean your carpets yourself, it is probably worth the small investment necessary to have a professional who specializes in deep carpet cleaning come to your home and do it for you. A reputable company can take the worry out of the process and do a difficult job for you, and most deep cleanings are an affordable way to get the most life out of your carpet. A professional cleaning costs much less than having to buy new carpet after all.

When a professional comes to assess your carpet cleaning needs, he will be able to tell what fibers your carpet is comprised of and determine the best way to clean your rug. There are five ways to choose from: 1) absorbent pad; 2) rotary shampooing; 3) steam cleaning (extracting stains and dirt with hot water); 4) dry foam; or 5) dry extraction.

Steam cleaning is probably the most common method of deep cleaning, and either you as the homeowner or a professional can do it. The hassle of buying or renting a steam cleaner, however, makes it much more convenient to hire someone. They will bring all the necessary supplies with them, and usually carpet-cleaning companies will have two people working at once, so the job will be finished quickly. Hot water extraction, or what we commonly call steam cleaning, requires pre cleaning treatment of the carpet with a dirt-loosening solvent. Then, the steam machine injects hot water into the carpet and dirt and stains disappear up the strong suction device that picks up both the water and the nasty stuff that is making your carpet ugly and draining it of its life.

Using the absorbent pad method for deep carpet cleaning is also quite effective, as are all the methods of deep cleaning, but this is one method the homeowner really can’t be expected to do. With this type of cleaning, a special machine has absorbent pads attached to spinners that absorb the stains and soil right out of your carpet.

Strong, durable carpets can be cleaned using the dry extraction method. With this type of carpet cleaning, specially made solvents or cleaners are instilled way down into the carpet fibers then, the cleaning agent draws all the dirt and other pollutants to it. Finally, the cleaning solution, stains and soil are removed with suction (vacuum).

Using the dry foam extraction method of deep cleaning is sometimes recommended for natural fiber carpeting such as woolen carpet. Similar to the other ways carpet can be cleaned, the professional carpet-cleaning employee applies a cleaning agent that becomes foam. The foam works to attract and loosen trod-in stains and dirt, and once enough time has passed for all the grime to be loosened, the foam and dirt are vacuumed away.

Rotary shampooing is just what its name implies. A special carpet shampoo is applied to the carpet and with the help of a special machine with powerful spinning brushes, the carpet is cleaned by the combination of the shampoo and the power of the rotating heads on the deep cleaning machine.

A professional can help you decide which the best option for your carpet is, and how often a deep cleaning should be done based on your lifestyle; obviously, if you have pets and or young children, your carpet would benefit by more frequent deep cleaning in addition to your regular weekly vacuuming. The best way to deep clean the carpet can be determined by the material out of which your carpet is made and the recommendations of the carpet manufacturer. Regardless of the method, regularly deep cleaning your carpets is important and will help your carpet last longer and look better.

The process of steam cleaning your carpet involves hot water being fed to a spray extraction tool or wand, coupled to a pump vacuum power unit. The cleaning solution is injected under pressure deep into the carpet through water jet nozzles.

The water will then penetrate the fiber all the way down to the backing. This action will loosen any embedded soil, remove oil and grease deposits, and get your carpet cleaner than it has ever been. There are many types and makes of steam carpet cleaners available on the market, ranging from small portables to the large and very powerful truck mounted units. The principle is the same no matter what model you pick.

The models that are truck mounted are designed so that only the hose and the wand are taken into the area being cleaned. These units are very powerful, delivering hot water and generating a high vacuum recovery that can be powered by diesel fuel, gas, propane, or even by the motor of the truck.

Most carpet manufacturers, fiber producers, and professional cleaners endorse this process for achieving soil removal efficiency. With the present state of art equipment and technology, we are more than capable of high production and cleaning of carpet.

The real disadvantage to steam carpet cleaning are the problems that are associated with over wetting and longer drying times. These can be eliminated however, by a skilled operator who uses equipment that is well maintained and in good overall operating condition.

Currently, there are two methods being used with steam carpet cleaning.

1. This method involves a traffic lane cleaner being sprayed onto the traffic lanes and then agitated into the fibers. The entire area is then cleaned by using a hot water extractor that has a cleaning solution being injected into the fibers through the wand.

2. The second method involves a free rinse emulsifying pre-spray being sprayed onto the entire carpet, then agitated into the fibers.

Steam cleaning procedures

1. Prepare the equipment and supplies. In a pump or power sprayer you should mix the free rinsing pre-spray. In the solution tank of the extractor, mix the rinsing agent.

2. If you have a lot of furniture to move, make yourself a floor plan.

3. If the area being cleaned has furniture, you should remove as much as possible.

4. Thoroughly vacuum the carpet. If the pile is crushed or matted, use a pile brush to loosen the soils which will make vacuuming more effective.

5. Pre-spray a good amount of the pre-spray.

6. Using a grooming tool, agitate the pre spray deep into the fibers then let it sit for 10 – 15 minutes, making sure that it doesn’t dry out.

7. Extract the area using a portable, truck mounted, or automatic carpet cleaner.

8. Repeat steps 5 through 7 until the entire area has been cleaned.

9. Groom the cleaned area, replace all furniture that was removed, then clean all equipment that you used.
